Getting that perfect photo or video takes bucketfuls of perseverance
I absolutely love taking photos and could easily be accused of taking too many. But, judging by how many I actually get right, I can see I still have a long way to go.
I started with a bright pink 35mm which was my pride and joy. Several hundred holiday snaps of the sea with a tiny dot for a boat and disposable cameras later and I could finally afford a Canon digital camcorder with a Zoom. Looking at the quality now and it's a disaster, but, at the time, it was magic. I could finally zoom in on things. Shame they were still out of focus. I then bought my first Canon digital camera, saved up and got an even bigger digital camera (this time Fuji) and was also given a Canon SLR in recent years.
With all of this wonderful technology around me, funnily enough I still take most of my photos and videos on the humble iPhone - and that's because I've always got it to hand. It slips in and out of my pocket and is perfect for carrying around. Plus it's always switched on and ready to go. I think the fact I can easily post to any Social Media website instantly with the abundance of WiFi hotspots across the globe is also a very compelling reason. And I'm crazy about Instagram.
When I do take my other cameras on my travels, I'm rarely seen out of Auto mode. I'm also still learning how to use my SLR. That's a whole different level of patience and perseverance, which I haven't mastered yet.
As you look around my website and blog, I hope you enjoy the photos and videos.
