I signed my first ever book today for the Financial Director at Explore, Mr Mike Tyler. He's a bit of a card for a bean counter and made me sign it "Love, the big red tomato" - it's a long standing joke we have! Still, it was wonderful to sign that first book. The satisfaction that I've finally seen something through to completion started as a warm glow in my toes and then spread throughout, leaving me feeling very elated.

The first sentence of the blurb hooked me in with this book - it struck a chord!
Contemporary fiction alluding to current affairs - at least five or six references. At first I wasn't sure about the author's style - sometimes sounding corny and then other times, amazing pieces of writing that really resonated with me. I could relate to something said on page 38 - deflecting undue attention by inviting people to talk about themselves / keeping people at arm's length. On page 59 - taking refuge in laughter. Page 65 - the best of a relationship is often carried out in one's head - interesting concept. Page 307 - George has had a stroke and her inventive exchange with Alice is endearing. Beautifully written! Finally, in Chapter 56 - the events played out in reviews, letters and press releases is a genius idea. |
AuthorBlogging is an amazing concept so here I am giving it a whirl. You'll get words. You'll get pics. Sometimes a vid or two. You'll get tongue in cheek, the odd humble opinion and an honest insight into my travels and writing life. Maybe even a few gems along the way. I'll be musing on home turf as I see more and more of the UK and sharing my experiences further afield on holidays and adventurous trips across the globe. Archives
